Notes: First session of this winter at the Bagnor feeder. Nets took longer than expected to put up, one had to be adjusted as it was too close to the feeder when I lowered it. First capture one Blue Tit. The next capture was of five including a Coal Tit with quite dark plumage and a bluish tinge to the back but not enough for a continental. The others were blue and great tits including a bird ringed as a pulli. The next round of 14 included a Greenfinch and four more Coal Tits. Normally we capture one occasionally over the winter but we were up to five after the third round on the first visit and by the end of the session six different individuals had been ringed; definitely a good year for this species it seems. More double figure rounds followed that included a Great Spotted Woodpecker, two Dunnocks and Goldfinches. In all six birds ringed as pulli captured and one from late last winter. The penultimate round included six Long-tailed Tits an infrequently captured species in recent times. The last round, when we took the nets down, was of 17 blue and great tits. When visiting the feeder recently flock of redpoll and siskin have been near the feeder but not today. They probably turn up later in the morning to drink after feeding elsewhere; maybe next time.

Sightings 38 Species: Quite busy compared to other sites recently with several species moving through and about including a large flock of corvids. Probably missed a few species while it was thick fog.
