02/09 THatcham Marsh LNR

Location: Thatcham Marsh LNR
Session: 02-Sep-2018 06:30 to 10:30hrs
Headlines: The first post CES session and as expected the audio pulled in a good collection of species. It looks like Blackcap were on the move as they made up nearly 50% of the capture. The Lesser Whitethroat was the first  captured here since August 2016. There being just three of us it was a busy morning especially as some rounds exceeded 20 birds; I needed to get away promptly but didn’t because the round at nets down consisted of 33 birds.
Weather: bright, sunny, warmish, calm
Present: JL, DL, IW
Nets: 216metres in two rides, 198mete reed bed ride and 18metre scrub ride
Lure (audio): playlist warblers, Reed Bunting, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Goldcrest, Firecrest intermittently.
