Session:
Notes: The weather
conditions quickly deteriorated as soon as I arrived with the wind gusting at
first then becoming consistently strong as the session progressed. The few birds
captured were all captured on the windward side of the nets. The wind not only
gusted but swirled in the early part of the session. Although there are many
Linnets around most days, we rarely capture any, so todays juvenile female is
the bird of the day. I am sure, had conditions been better, we would have
captured more migrants; maybe tomorrow.
Weather: overcast, a few sunny
periods, warm, blustery, windy
Present: JL, IW
Nets: 48metres in three
rides of 18m, 18m, 12m up from 08:00 to 10:00hrs

Sightings 25 Species: A small fall
of Whitethroats in the surrounding scrub appeared to be moving towards the enclosure
but none captured. They had all disappeared by the next walkround. The House Martins, in one group, were heading south-ish battling against
the head-wind. Both Swallows, heading south, jinked over the nets.
