Location: Greenham
Common Western Enclosure
Session: 03-JuL-2020, 07:30 to
10:30hrs
Notes: It rained before I was ready to leave the house
yesterday so despite it being forecast to be windy today, I decided to give it
a try. There was a light breeze when I reached the site and I put up the usual
three nets. Unfortunately, quite soon after the wind began increasing and by mid-session
was blowing strongly. This probably accounted for the disappointing capture as the last
two birds were extracted from the nets before 09:00hrs. Last years matching
visit was a little better. Present: JL,IW
Weather: clear with sunny periods, warm, light
breeze early becoming strong halfway through the session.
Nets: 48metres in 3 net
rides, two 18M and one 12M net up from 07:30 to 10:00hrs
Lure (Audio): Warbler, Misc
Migrants, Redstart, Dartford Warbler, Woodlark, Stonechat intermittently.
