Session:09-04-2021, 07:30 to 11:00hrs
Notes: A Woodlark and the first Willow Warbler of the year today. Must be the
first time for a while that we ringed one of the latter before a Chiffchaff; a
sign of the times.JL,IW,RJC
Weather: Sunny, light SW breeze, cool
Nets: 48metres in 3 rides
of 18m, 18m, 12m, up from 08:00 to 10:40hrs
Lure (None):
Session:
Todays Woodlark, a male would not stay still long enough for a decent photo
Present: Recaptures:(None)
Sightings 34 species: A pair of Lesser Redpoll out on the heath scrub, as last week, and two fly-over Siskins. One or two Swallows over flying about but did not linger, and a male Wheatear dropped in for a few minutes just outside the enclosure. The Dartford Warbler was singing from the top of a nearby tree for a minute or two and the male Stonechat was singing for most of the morning as was the Woodlark. Otherwise much as expected given the cold weather of late.
