22/06 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure
Session: 22/06/2021, 07:30 to 10:50hrs
Notes: It was drizzling at about 07:00hrs, it was forecast to stop so thought I’d give it a go. Still a few spots when I arrived with a gusting breeze. Good for drying nets after Sunday’s soaking so I put the usual nets up. A quiet session, mostly juveniles.
Present: JL,IW
Weather: overcast and some drizzle at start, clearing to sunny periods, gusting medium breeze, cool
Nets: 48metres in 3 rides of 18M, 18M, 12M up from 08:00 to 10:30hrs
Lures Audio: Warblers and Misc Migrants, Redstart
A fresh Emperor Dragonfly (female) never noticed the yellow leading edge to the wings before

Sightings 31 species: Quiet again today, a Lesser Whitethroat in the nearby scrub probably the best bird. It flew towards the enclosure but not into the nets. No sign of Woodlark, Stonechat or Dartford Warbler.
