Common Western Enclosure Week 32
Session: 10/08/2021, 07:20 to 11:00hrs
Notes: The rain and wind of the last few days stopped all
ringing activity, so it was good to get out this morning even though it was
raining at breakfast. Mostly Willow Warblers, it is normally their
peak week through here and after numbers normally drop quite rapidly to a few
stragglers. My availability this week is limited so I hope the weather is kind
on the days I can ring. Present: JL,IW

Weather: Overcast early clearing to sunny periods, light breeze, warm.
Nets: 48metres in 3 rides
of 18M, 18M, 12M up from 07:45 to 10:30hrs
Lures: Audio: Warblers, Misc
Migrants, Hirundine(part), Redstart, Grasshopper Warbler(part)
Recaptures:(none)
Sightings: The gathering of Swifts drifted southwest high up. The first time we have seen Sparrowhawk this end of the common for some time. The Woodlark flew west over the enclosure towards Sandleford Heath; don’t think the pair this end had a very breeding season as we usually see family parties this time of year. Not much insect activity after the heavy rain of the last few days.
