24/06 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure (wk25)
Session: 24/06/2022 07:35 to 11.00hrs
Notes.  Not so many birds today due to blustery wind but quality provided by a juvenile Woodlark and second juvenile Dartford Warbler. The re-trapped Chiffchaff was ringed last September, as a 1st summer bird.
Juvenile Woodlark

Weather: blustery wind, some sunny periods, cool
Nets: 48metres 3 Rides, 18M, 18M and 12M up  from 08:00 to 10:30 hrs
Lures: Warblers, Misc Migrants, Misc Residents, Redstart intermittently.

Chiffchaff      ringed 16/09/2021


Sightings: Not much activity. Swifts in groups of 1 to 3, may have been drifting south, perhaps a bit early though. Jackdaws more active than Wednesday flying out from the bunkers for most of the morning.  Difficult to be sure of the number of Dartford Warblers. Apart from the resident pair of Stonechats around the enclosure, a family party of at least five out on the grassland to the east.
