12/09 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure (wk37)
Session: 12/09/2022 07:45 to 11:00hrs
Notes: Another good session today. Unusually we had a few re-traps that included a Chiffchaff and a Willow Warbler ringed elsewhere. The latter ringed only yesterday, should be a day or two before we find out where they are from. The session finished off nicely as the last two birds captured were a Restart (the second this year) and an un-ringed  Dartford Warbler.
Present: JL,IW,IQ
Weather: overcast early with some sunny periods clearing later, warm ,calm.
Nets: 48metres 3 Rides, 18M, 18M and 12M up from 08:00 to 10:40 hrs
Lures: Warblers, Misc Migrants, Yellow-browed Warbler, Redstart, intermittently.

Sightings: The heath had a lot of bird activity early, Swallows through in ones and twos, two high flying Great Spotted Woodpeckers over from the south. My first Clouded yellow of the year also Migrant Hawkers.
