18/09 Thatcham Marsh LNR

Location: Thatcham Marsh LNR
Session: 18/09/2022 07:00 to 11:30hrs
Notes: cleared and tidied up the ride for the first hour so the total this morning might have been even better had we started at the usual time. Another good total of blackcap and some Chiffchaff, still a few Reed Warbler about and a late-ish Sedge Warbler. A flock of tits went through mid-session; unusually no Blue Tit were netted.
Present: IW,JHW, IQ,RAD,JL,DL,NC
Weather: sunny periods, cool, light breeze.
Nets: 198metres in 1 ride, 18Mx11 reed bed ride up from 08:00 to 11:00 hrs
Lures: Warblers, Misc Migrants, Aquatic Warbler, Yellow-browed Warbler, Redstart, intermittently.

Sightings: A few hirundine over, there has been a bigg-ish movement of these over the last four days. A noisy Kingfisher went over the railway embankment as we came back from clearing the rides and a Raven croaked once flying south.
