27/09 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure (wk39)
Session: 27/09/2022 07:40 to 10:30hrs
Notes: Strong blustery wind not ideal, eventually it rained so nets down early at 10:00hrs. A Goldcrest was the first bird, but it got out of the net before we could extract it. A few more Blackcap and Chiffchaff to add to this year’s total. Didn't expect to catch much given the conditions.
Present: JL,IW,NC
Weather: sunny periods, strong breeze, cool, rained off 10:05hrs.
Nets: 48metres 3 Rides, 18M, 18M and 12M up from 08:00 to 10:00hrs
Lures: Warblers, Misc Migrants, Yellow-browed Warbler/Crests, Redstart, intermittently.

Recaptures: (none)

Sightings:  A good movement of hirundine through southwest early, followed by small groups over  until it rained, some going north-ish.  A Woodlark  is the first at this end of the common we have seen for a while. Dartford Warblers very noisy.
