16/10 Thatcham Marsh LNR

Location: Thatcham Marsh LNR
Session: 16/10/2022 07:30 to 11:15hrs
Notes: An unexpected busy session, numbers usually diminish middle of October here. Two late juvenile Reed Warblers and a bumper Chiffchaff catch. Some Chiffchaffs were heavy birds carrying lots of fat (over 10grms when normal weight is between 6.0 and 7.5), fuel for the hop across the channel.

Weather: bright sunny, calm cool
Nets:198M 1 18Mx11 reed bed ride up from 08:00 to 10:30 hrs
Lures: BC-CC-FC-GC, Thrushes, Yellow-browed Warbler, Reed Bunting intermittently
