13/11 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Feeder
Session: 13/11/2022 07:30 to 11:30hrs
Notes: Another good session, it looks to have been a good breeding outcome for Blue and Great Tit this year if the totals from the first sessions at all three feeders are anything to go by. One or two Coal Tits per session is the norm for this feeder, so five including a bird ringed in 2019 shows that they are also doing well. It was good to ring a Chaffinch and two Greenfinches, both were regularly ringed in good number at the Cope Hall feeder and elsewhere when I began training in the mid-1970s. The star of today though has to be the 9 years since ringing Blackbird that was a regular until 2015 at the Greenham feeder, wonder where it has been since. I think it must be one of Newbury Ringing Group’s oldest Blackbirds to date.
Present: JL,IW,JHW,IQ,NC
