Notes:  Another quiet time on the reed bed. Many of the previously ringed Reed and Sedge Warbler appear to have moved on and some encountered today have yet to show signs of coming into breeding condition and may be moving through. We put one of the scrub net today, fortunately the regular intruder didn’t arrive while we were in operation. Don’t know what happened to the hottest day of the year forecast, it remained overcast and cold throughout the session.

Nets: 210Metres: a 198M reed bed ride and a 12M scrub ride up from 6:30 to 10:30hrs

Sighting: Garden Warbler singing in the scrub near where the two sets of nets meet on the reed bed ride and a cuckoo calling nearby.
