Age Range: all 1st winter except adult: Blue Tit 1, Robin 2
Notes: Quite cold for this year. 11 Goldcrest captured while putting nets up, then one or two birds per round for the rest of the session. Redwing and Fieldfare landed in the bushes next to the nets attracted by the audio but none captured. A passing Lesser Redpoll also showed some interest but didn’t land. A substantial Woodpigeon flock passed over in a westerly direction. Several flocks of Fieldfare and Redwing flew over heading north. Probably moving away from the rain front, coming in from the west and swinging northwards over the next few days. The heath generally was quiet bird-wise.
