Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure
Session: 28-Aug-2015 07:00 to 11:20hrs
Weather: Sunny and calm until the about 10:30hrs when the wind speed reach about 15mph and made capture impossible.
Present: JL,IW,RGS
Nets: 280’ in five rides of 60’, 60’, 40’, 60’, 60’ up from 07:20 to 11:00hrs
Lure: audio: Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Goldcrest, Firecrest, Garden Warbler, Willow Warbler, Redstart intermittently.
Capture 45: Blackcap 7/0, Blue Tit 4/0, Chiffchaff 16/0, Great Tit 5/0, Stonechat 2/0, Whitethroat 3/0, Willow Warbler 8/0
Recaptures: none
Age Range: all juveniles except for adult: Great Tit 1, Willow Warbler 3

Stonechat immature male
Notes: Overslept, so started about an hour later than intended. Steady flow of birds for most of the morning; disappointingly none of the low flying Swallow or the two Redstart in the gorse nearby captured. Two Stonechat is nice; a third ringed individual, the one I was after avoided capture. Blackcap number still poor and the first session this year I think when no Garden Warbler captured or seen.

Sightings 29 Species: Quite a lot of activity today and a steady flow of migrants through the site and better still not many people at the western end of the common; plenty in the middle though. On the way back via the Fire Plane Gravel saw Whinchat 2, Wheatear 1, and a Hobby over fast southwest and two friendly birders from Bracknell.
