Nets: 120’ two 40’ nets one each side of feeder and one 40’ alongside the scrub feeder.

Adults: Blackbird 1, Blue Tit 1, Goldfinch 1, Lesser Redpoll A bright 1st winter Lesser Redpoll two looking like this captured the other was an adult.

Notes: It was forecast as being a little less windy than recently. It was still very windy though and we would not normally have ringed except that we have been unable to ring much this month so decided to give it a go. The birds when they arrived could see the nets and bounced out early on. The first capture was a blackbird and the a Great Spotted Woodpecker both heavy enough for the nets to hold them. Later the wind dropped a little and we captured a few of the less lucky one that did not bounce out.. With the drop in wind came the drizzle that forced us to abandon the session.

Sightings 25 Species: Not a pleasant day for birdwatching either so not a comprehensive list.
