Headlines: The
first CES of 2015 (Visit 2015.01) in quite pleasant conditions; a bit cold
out of the sun though. The bridge over the stream had been vandalised (since
our visit on the 22nd April) but Jon managed to find the missing post and
reinstate it. We had hope to do some refurbishment over the winter but never
got round to it, so another season of walking the scary plank.

relatively new arrivals, surprisingly no hirundine activity, RJC had a
Grasshopper Warbler on his early morning BBOWT survey, unfortunately to far
away for us to hear, otherwise species much as expected for the time of year.

Thanks for being so hospitable to our group from Kintbury Wildlife Group this morning. We realise that we arrived right at the end of the session (typical KWG timing I'm afraid) but we had had a really good morning with all the birdsong and our members and the two visitors who joined us were greatly impressed by seeing the sedge warblers in the hand. As they were with the information they gleaned from the Ringing Group members. I have to say that these walks we do are always made more enjoyable when we have people keen to learn!
