Session: 17-Sep-2019 07:20 to
11:10 hrs
Notes: I am expecting a
spike in Chiffchaff numbers soon but it wasn’t today. Blackcaps mostly males and
number perhaps slowing. The surprise was a Marsh Tit not a species normally
out on the heath. Two Stonechats finally got careless enough to be trapped in
the net.
Weather: sunny period, warming,
breezy.
Present: JL, IW, RJC
Nets: 48metres in three
rides of 18m, 18m, 12m up from 07:45 to 10:45hrs
Lure (audio): misc. migrants,
warblers, redstart, yellow-browed warbler intermittently

Sightings 26 Species: Heard the
Woodlark when putting the nets up but could not find them later so not sure if
it was the usual flock. Similarly a calling Raven went over somewhere unseen.
