13/08 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure Week 32
Session: 13/08/2021, 07:15 to 10:15hrs
Notes: Started half an hour early as I had to be elsewhere by 10:30hrs. A few more Willow and Garden Warblers and another Lesser Whitethroat also a returning Willow Warbler from last year.
Present: JL,IW
Weather: Overcast, breezy, warm.
Nets: 48metres in 3 rides of 18M, 18M, 12M up from 07:30 to 10:00hrs
Lures Audio: Warblers, Misc Migrants, Redstart, Grasshopper Warbler

Willow Warbler         ringed 23/06/2020

Sightings: The Tawny Owl was in the oak tree on the margin of the woodland and called several times during the morning. More Swifts high up drifting southwest also House Martins and Swallows.  A Green Sandpiper flew off west, up from the flood pool. Meadow Pipits out on the grassland to the east were flushed by dogs.
