02/08 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure (wk31)
Session: 02/08/2022 07:30 to 11:00hrs
Notes: A good variety but no numbers although so far by this season standard three Willow Warbler is reasonable. A juvenile  Bullfinch (a scarce bird these days) and the third new juvenile Dartford Warbler this year.
Present: JL,IW
Weather: overcast with a few sunny periods, breezy, warm
Nets: 48metres 3 Rides, 18M, 18M and 12M up  from 08:00 to 10:30 hrs
Lures: Warblers, Misc Migrants, Grasshopper Warbler, Redstart, intermittently.

Recaptures: (none)

Sightings: The Cormorants were in one flock flying WSW. We had all three species of common large gulls within about five minutes. The Greater Black-backed Gull an adult was a new year species for me.  Apart from a few warblers in the southern scrub around 10:00hrs little sign of any movement.
