Notes: Nets went up easier than expected for the first autumn visit. First capture one Coal Tit that went in the net while I was putting them up. The next round was 20 birds mostly Coal Tit with a Nuthatch and some Blue & Great Tits. By the time we had processed these, another 25 had been captured, this time more Blue Tits than the others. It then began to quieten down with the next two rounds of four and five tits followed by one Coal Tit. The rest of the session consisted of five single figure captures of mostly Blue Tit and Great Tit. Capturing two Marsh Tits is a bonus; very scarce here these days. Given the outlook, I thought it to be a good ringing session.
