Location: Snelsmore
Common Feeder
Session: 28-Dec-2016 08:00 to
11:20hrs
Headlines: A good capture in unpleasant
cold damp cold conditions; the first time this winter that the capture is up
on the equivalent visit of last winter. The ratio between 1st winter and adult
BLUTI is up this year and whenever we capture good numbers 1st winter birds
dominate. It would be interesting to know where they come from and /or where
they have been until recently. Otherwise some good recaptures. It was colder
yesterday at Bagnor but I think we were all glad to get home out of the penetrating
cold of today.
Weather: Fog, cold, damp,
calm, unpleasant
Present: JL, IW, DL
Nets: 12metres in two rides
6m each side of feeder up from 08:15 to 11:0hrs
Lure (feeders): Fat Balls, Black
Sunflower, Peanuts

Sightings 17 Species: Not a very
comprehensive list due to the fog and also we were quite busy. The Ravens were very vocal early in the session. Might have been a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker calling but needed to hear more of it to be sure.
