09/11 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure
Session: 09-Nov-2017 07:45 to 11:00hrs
Headlines: Had some temperamental sound equipment today; couldn’t remember how to put an Iphone on repeat and a couple of speakers I thought I had repaired refused to work. Slowed me down getting off the site to allow the birds to come in. Still, I had a few Goldcrests, ringed another Redwing (a few bounced); not so many flying over today. Most of the Long-tailed Tit flock went east of the enclosure. The three captured were all from a big flock that went through the enclosure on the 29-Aug-2017. The three Great Tits were all lone individuals and all females. The season ringing in the enclosure is coming to an end if previous years are anything to go by, it will be interesting to see what if anything is about; that’s if the weather remains calm and mild enough to ring here.
Weather: Mostly overcast, cool, light breeze
Present: JL
Nets: 48mtetres in three rides of 18M, 18M, 12M
Lure (audio): Redwing, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Goldcrest, Firecrest, Yellow-browed Warbler, Meadow Pipit, Grey Wagtail, Brambling, Redpoll and Siskin intermittently
