13/06 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure
Session: 13-Juv-2018 06:00 to 10:20hrs
Headlines: Intended to put a full set of nets up but only manage to get three nets up before the flock of Long-tailed Tits arrived. Yesterday there were several juvenile Stonechats around the enclosure; just a lone singing male this morning. It is too early for call lures so the capture was pot luck. Same total as 2017 but much less variety, more Long-tailed Tits. Some good recoveries though a Goldfinch ringed in my near-by garden, three Long-tailed Tits probably some of the parents of the flock and who had been captured in previous flocks as Juveniles, when ringed. The Willow Warbler was ringed as a juvenile in 2016 so has travels to west Africa and back twice so far.
Weather: bright, sunny, calm, breezy from mid-session.
Present: JL, IW
Nets: 48metres in three rides of 18, 18, 12metres up from 06:20 to 10:00hrs
Lure (none):
