Session: 25-Jul-2018 06:45 to
10:35hrs
Headlines: very quiet today and
little sign of passage compared to previous recent visits. As can be seen from
the sightings list below very little activity on the common even the dog
walkers all but stayed away. The last bird captured was a pristine male
Whitethroat , had mostly grey feathers on the crown; just ending its
moult. Unfortunately the photos I took are not very good as it was fidgety and
the grey was lost in the strong light.
Weather: Sunny early clouding
over later, hot, slight breeze.
Present: JL, SC
Nets: 48metres in three
rides of 18m, 18m, 12m up from 07:15 to 10:00hrs
Lure (audio): Blackcap,
Chiffchaff, Goldcrest, Firecrest, willow Warbler, Garden Warbler, Whitethroat,
Lesser Whitethroat, Redstart, Swallow intermittently

Sightings 18 Species: not much
about at all, didn’t even pickup any Blue or Great Tits, probably all staying
cool deep in the woods, don't think I missed all that many species today as I had plenty of spare time and walked around the overshoot area several times
