19/08 Thatcham Marsh LNR CES 2018.11

Location: Thatcham Marsh LNR CES visit 2018.11
Session: 19-Aug-2018 05:30 to 10:30hrs
Headlines: Conditions far from ideal this morning, very blustery and wind speed just below what is practical  for ringing. Some birds bounced though there were few birds on the reed bed to bounce. Two Sedge Warblers, quite recently fledged, were unexpected as we thought the locals had left some time ago. 11 is the equal lowest total ever for visit 11; average is 36, range 1999-72 2005-11. The penultimate visit so after next week we can start using audio. It will be interesting to see if it makes any difference?
Weather: Overcast, warm, blustery breeze
Present: JL, DL, IW
Nets: 198 metres standard reed bed ride, up from 06:15 to 10:15 hrs
Lure (none):
Capture (New/Recapture)
