16/11 Bagnor Feeder

Location: Bagnor Feeder
Session: 16-Nov-2018 07:40 to 11:15hrs
Notes: We had a busy morning, with good pulli recaptures including a Blue Tit ringed in a box at Mount Hill in 2015. Five Great Spotted Woodpeckers is unusual; three in one net at the same time, very noisy. There are good numbers of Goldfinches at this feeder so far this year; no sign of any Greenfinch yet though. Hopefully some of the Siskins flying about will find the feeder. It was good to meet up with a couple of Barn Owl Monitoring Group members erecting two boxes around the field for the owner. A much better capture than last years matching visit. A good session despite the miserable weather.
Weather: overcast, cool, calm
Present: JL, IW
Nets: 12 metres one 6m net each side of feeder up from 08:00 to 11:00hrs
Lure (feeder): peanut, black sunflower, niger, fat ball

Sightings 27 Species: to busy ringing, missed a few, didn't get a chance to have a walk round the field or check the cress bed. The first Goldcrest here for a long time the best bird. The Redwings were in one flock that dropped into the top hedge from high up.
