Session: 18-May -2019 06:30 to
09:30 hrs
Notes: We did an extra
visit to the CES site this week to show some ringing to the participants of
the BBOWT Dawn Chorus Walk. I think they started at about 04:30hrs and walked
round the marsh arriving at our ringing station at about 07:00hrs. We erected
one length of the main standard net ride. The other length being bounded by
the cut area is not very productive. We captured a steady flow of birds in
the two-hour stint. Most interest was in the three Cetti’s Warblers. A good
number of Reed Warblers showed up including some not captured here this year
until now. A cup of coffee and a bacon butty was something we have not had
for some years now. Also we now have a strong ridged handrail for the “bridge”
thanks to the BBOWT conservation team.

Present: JL, DL, IW, JHW, and
BBOWT Dawn Chorus Walk Attendees
Nets: 108metres of CES standard
net up from 07:00 to 09:00hrs
