Session: 18-Jun-2019 07:30 to
10:30hrs
Notes: After this almost permanent
string of rain bearing lows a look at the weather app last night showed that
condition until mid-morning should be good for ringing. It was bright sunshine
when I got up however when I left home it was beginning to cloud over. Still
the main thing was that it was calm and not raining. It was nice to put up nets in calm conditions. The six Blue Tits were individuals
that crossed the heath through the morning and the Long-tailed Tit appeared to be
on its own; no flocks of either species were detected.

Sightings 36 Species: A few foraging birds
were moving around the heath for most of the morning including
juvenile phylos and tits. A family party of at least five Stonechats were
active around the enclosure when I arrived but had move away by the time the
nets were up. The out of habitat Reed Warbler is an early sign that birds are beginning
to move away from breeding grounds
