Session: 18-Jul-2019 07:10 to
10:45hrs
Notes: A reasonable session,
compared to last year’s matching visit sylvia warblers other than Blackcap are
scarce so far this season and my Chiffchaffs earlier than Willow Warblers thoughts were
blown this session. A few Blue Tits moved across the heath mostly early session,
no sign of any Great Tits though. The recaptured Chiffchaff was a male ringed
in May now in full wing moult. We capture one or two acrocephalus out of
habitat here most years, today it was a juvenile Sedge Warbler.
Weather: Bright sunny, high wispy
cloud, warm, calm, light breeze later.
Present: JL, IW
Nets: 48metres in three
rides of 18m, 18m, 12m up from 07:30 to 10;30hrs
Lure (audio): Misc Migrants, Warblers,
Redstart intermittently
