Session: 26-Jul-2019 0715 to
10:50hrs
Notes: The rain, apart from
some spotting late in the session, as it often does, went each side of the
Greenham Common Plateau. There was quite a lot of Linnet/Goldfinch/Greenfinch
activity in the surrounding scrub. But we only ringed migrants today, mostly
Garden Warblers and Whitethroats. All were aged as juveniles in post juvenile
moult. The Greenfinch that we captured, ringed elsewhere, on Wednesday (24th
Jul) was ringed 02/12/2017 at Nightingale Wood near Swindon;38Km away.
Weather: Overcast, light
breeze, warm, a few patches of blue and spots of rain in the final half hour
of the session.
Present: JL, IW
Nets: 48metres in three
rides of 18m, 18m, 12m up from 07:40 to 10:30hrs
Lure (audio): Misc. Migrants,
Warblers, Redstart, Swallow intermittently
