Session:
Notes: . No sign of any pollution
from the sewage works spill. Just the faint smell we get when down-wind of the
SW. The pond weed in the stream looked heathy. Moorhen still there; the 1990s
incident cleared the stream of all life. Effects might take a while to
materialise though. Another Blackcap dominated session but fewer birds about
as the season progresses. The 7+ years old male is probably one of the eldest for
some time; not that easy to check currently. The Sedge and Reed
Warbler are latish, we have had the latter in October before. Nice day.
Weather:
Present: JL, IW, JHW
Nets: 228metres in three
rides of 198m, 18m, 12m up from 08:00 to 11:00hrs
Lure (audio): misc. migrants,
warblers, aquatic warbler, reed bunting intermittently
