Session:
Notes: Good job I like
ringing Blackcaps, another 25 today included an individual who weighed
24.7grms. We have had several over 20grms this year, but this is the heaviest
so far. I thought it to be a different heavier species when I first put my hand in
the bag. More Dunnocks, a late Garden Warbler and Willow
Warblers with two more Goldcrests, numbers of the latter should start to increase towards thend of this month as wintering migrants move through.
Weather: sunny periods, warm, calm
breezy later.

Recaptures: none
Sightings 32 Species: The heath was quite quiet compared to yeasterday.
No sign of
the hirundine that were streaming through. Best birds, the Spotted Flycatchers that arrived in the nearby tall birch on
the heath. We postponed nets down hoping they would respond to calls and fly towards
the enclosure. They continued feeding around the tree, so we took the nets
down, during which they flew high over to the birch wood on the south side of the heath.
