Session:
Notes: Quiet today, an easy session. Blackcaps still about, numbers dwindling though. Similarly
Chiffchaff, numbers have dropped. Two late Willow Warblers perhaps a little unexpected. Some Chiffchaffs moving through now are greener than the local birds, wing formulas
need checking carefully. The capture was slow early and then steady for the
rest of the session. Nice day
Weather: sunny periods, warm, calm
Present: JL, IW
Nets: 48metres in three
rides of 18m, 18m, 12m up from 07:45 to 10:45hrs
Lure (audio): misc. migrants,
warblers, redstart, yellow-browed warbler, intermittently

Recaptures: none
Sightings 32 Species: Greenfinch
seem to have moved on to the common this week after being mostly absent since
the breeding season. They fed on the grassland to the east of the enclosure with Goldfinch, Linnets and a few Meadow Pipits. A Chaffinch “pinked” in the woods; not detected
any here for a while. Three Mistle Thrushes over and a Raven flew South
along the treeline. No hirundine seen.
