Session: 30 Oct-2019 07:35 to 10:30hrs
Notes: Another quiet wind
affected day. Just 4 birds again including a late Chiffchaff, hoping for one
with a black bill as it looks like the chances of getting a Yellow-browed Warbler
are diminishing as we head into November. There were a lot more Goldcrests this
time last year. Finished early due to the strong windy condition.
Weather: overcast with sunny
periods, cold, Breezy.
Present: JL, IW, RJC
Nets: 48metres in three
rides of 18m, 18m, 12m up from 08:00 to 10:00hrs
Lure (audio): autumn, BBCCGCFC,
Yellow-browed Warbler, Meadow Pipit intermittently

Sightings 26 Species: A few
species not seen at this end of the common for a week or two: Bullfinch, Raven
and Woodlark. A flight of Wigeon looked to be heading towards Lower Farm GP
and a flyover Green Sandpiper headed West. Redwing slowed; those seen appeared to
be flying about. Bird numbers on the common are dropping with the cold weather
as we enter the first Winter period.
