17/11 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Feeder
Session: 17-Nov-2019 07:35 to 11:30hrs
Notes: It was slow early today, activity increased towards the end of the session. The Sparrowhawk was a nice capture, not unexpected as food take up from this feeder had slowed recently; after reveiw was sexed as female! The matching visit for the last winter period had a slightly higher total. We used the minimum feeder nets (no scrub nets) only today, so total not too bad; fewer Goldfinches captured though.
Weather: overcast, clearing, cool, calm.
Present: JL, IW, DL, CB, RJC, JHW, JPM
Nets: 12metres in two rides forming an L shape to the feeders up from 08:00 to 11:00hrs
Lure (Feeder): Peanuts, Niger, Black Sunflower
