08/12 Snelsmore Feeder

Location: Snelsmore Feeder
Session: 08-dec-2019 07:45 to 11:15hrs
Notes: After the two good totals of the previous visits this winter, numbers dropped to nearer the norm, possibly due to the recent below freezing nights affected survival. It does seem that there were many more, older more experienced birds ringed and recovered than is usual. Number are lower than last year’s matching visit when most of the Blue Tit and Coal Tit captures were first winter birds. Some good recoveries though.
Weather: cloudy, some sunny periods, cool getting colder during the session, very breezy and gusting.
Present: JL, IW, DL
Nets: 12metres in two nets one each side of feeders up from 08:00 to 11:00hrs
Lure (Feeder): Fat Balls, Black Sunflower, Niger, Peanut
