18/12 Bagnor Feeder

Location: Bagnor Feeder
Session: 18-Dec-2019 07:55 to 11:35hrs

Notes: It was busier than expected today. The food uptake has slowed over the last week or so and fewer birds around the feeders when doing every other day top up visits. 89 birds meant we had not time for a walk round the field. A better capture than last year’s matching visit; many more Blue and Great Tits. A Great Tit pulli ringed at nearby Mount Hill in 2013 (7 year’s old) is a good recovery; interestingly it had not been recovered in the interim. Also some good Blue Tit pulli recoveries. At this feeder we seem to have better success at capturing Goldfinch. At the Greenham feeder they are good at flying in and out vertically and they seldom visis to the Snelsmore feeder.
Weather: cloudy, some sunny periods, cold, calm, breezing up towards the end of the session.
Present: JL, IW
Nets: 12metres in 2 nets one 6M each side of feeders 08:10 to 11:10hrs
Lure (Feeder):Peanut, Black Sunflower, Niger, Fat Balls
