Location: Greenham
Common Western Enclosure
Session:
Notes: Blustery swirling wind today that moved from a SE
direction to the SW during the session. It varied from relatively calm to a
strong blustery breeze. I nearly didn’t bother hence the latish start but one
of the best captures this year was in similar conditions so I persevered.
Eighteen is better than yesterday’s total in almost ideal conditions. Plenty of
Whitethroat in the surrounding scrub for a while but most not reacting to audio. Willow Warblers made
up the bulk of the capture.
Note: most of the matching dates from 2019 for the appropriate
week numbers apply to Saturday through to Monday for 2020; days I don’t
normally ring here.
Present:
Weather: overcast early sunny later, warm, blustering breeze
Nets:
Lure (Audio):
Recaptures:(2) Whitethroat ringed 31/07/2020 Willow Warbler ringed 15/07 2020
Sightings
30 Species: As yesterday there was
some activity in the scrub. The was a single Swift over high east picked up
while trying to id a gull so there may have been others unseen.
