06/08 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure

Session: 06-Aug-2020, 07:10 to 10:45hrs

Notes: It  was sort of mizzle for most of this session with the sun breaking through a couple of times. Once the damp mist almost changed to rain but then abated. I actually found a visit from 2019 that matched the date, it was an even poorer capture though.

Weather: overcast, damping rather than raining (mizzle), warm, light SW breeze

Nets: 48metres in 3 net rides, two 18M and one 12M net up from 07:30 to 10:30hrs

Lure (Audio): Warblers, Misc Migrants, Redstart, intermittently.

Recaptures:(2)   Blackcap ringed 24/07/2020          Whitethroat ringed 21/07/2020

Sightings 31 Species: Best bird a Wheatear out on the grassland. We don’t get so many scarce migrants at this end of the common in recent years.
