Location:
Greenham
Common Western Enclosure
Session: 14-Aug-2020, 07:30 to
09:30hrs
Notes: It was spotting with rain when I left home. Hoping it would slip each
side of the Greenham Common Plateau as it often does and did yesterday I
erected two nets intending to put up the third when IW arrived but the spotting
fluctuated so we left the nets as is. As it was quiet at about 08:45hrs we decided to have a
look over the grassland east of the enclosure. We spotted several birds
including at least one Wheatear, some finches and pipits then a heavy shower arrived,
so we quickly returned and took down the nets abandoning the session. We ringed two
more Willow Warblers and a Great Tit before we stopped. The rain didn't last for long Present: JL,IW
Weather: Overcast heavy cloud, cool, calm to light NE breeze,
some spotting until it rained at about 09:00hrs
Nets: 36metres in 2 net
rides, two 18M nets up from 08:00 to 09:05hrs
Lure
(Audio): Warblers, Misc Migrants, Redstart, Swallow intermittently.
