16/10 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure Week 42
Session: 16-Oct-2020, 07:45 to 11:20hrs
Notes: More Redwings ringed today and we have bettered by three the previous best year total of 25 in 2017 for this place. Quite a good week really. A few people seemed to be on site early photographing the sunrise. Not aware of any reason for today being of particular interest. It is like it most mornings depending on the cloud cover.

Present:  JL,IW
Weather: Sunny periods with about a 60% cloud cover, cool, calm.
Nets: 48metres in 3 net rides, two 18M and a 12M net up from 08:00 to 11:00hrs
Lure (Audio): BC-CC-FC-CC, Autumn, Thrushes, SK-LR, Yellow-browed Warbler intermittently.

Recaptures: (none)
Sightings 40 Species: A good spread of species. The Sparrowhawk tried to take a Redwing but failed. Plenty of Redwings about and a few more Fieldfares than yesterday, I think the main flocks of the latter have yet to arrive in our area.
