16/06 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure
Session: 16/06/2021, 07:35 to 10:45hrs
Notes: Just a few birds today, not much out on the heath or moving about. The Garden Warbler was the only sylvia warbler detected. The Blackcaps that were in the scrub and wooded margins around the heath last week are quiet or have possibly moved off.

Nets: 48metres in 3 rides of 18M, 18M, 12M up from 08:00 to 10:30hrs

Sightings 29 species: Still no Blackcaps detected, as mentioned above the only sylvia warbler was the Garden Warbler. Linnets were more active than yesterday and a pair of Stonechats  and Dartford Warbler were also noisy for most of the morning. A single Woodlark sang briefly and was perched on a particular gorse bush on several occasions, possibly going for another brood. Robins seemed to have stopped singing, just one found in a line of scrub.
