25/08 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure Week 34
Session: 25/08/2021, 07:30 to 11:10Hrs
Notes: It looked promising early, and we had one good capture, but just like yesterday the cloud closed in, the breeze grew stronger and birds all but stopped moving through the enclosure. Nice Willow Warbler recovery, ringed last year on its way towards the Channel and France.

Weather: warm bright sunny calm early, later overcast, and breezy
Nets: 48metres in 3 rides of 18M, 18M, 12M up from 07:45 to 10:30hrs
Lures Audio: Warblers, Misc Migrants, Hirundine, Redstart, Grasshopper Warbler

Willow Warbler       ringed elsewhere: 16/08/2020 LitlingtonEast SussexUK(121KM)


Sightings:  The Sparrowhawk bounced out of the nets trying to take a Blackcap. Three groups of Canada Geese flew over from the south. There was some activity to the west on the heath, NC saw two possibly four Tree Pipits flying towards the enclosure.
