20/09 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure Week 38

Session: 20/09/2021, 07:30 to 10:50hrs

Notes: Quiet with just a few Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs captured. The wind combined with the

bright sun made the nets more obvious than normal. There seemed to be several phylos

around the enclosure that did not respond to audio.

Present: JL,IW

Weather: Sunny, cool early, warm later, northerly breeze getting stronger towards the end of

the session.

Nets: 48metres in 3 rides of 18M, 18M, 12M up from 07:45 to 10:30hrs

Lures Audio: Audio – Sylvia and Phylos Warblers, Crests, Redstart, Yellow-browed Warbler 

Grasshopper Warbler, Scarce Summer Migrants (chats, pipits, thrushes etc)

Recaptures:(00)

Sightings: Highlight a latish Spotted Flycatcher and several groups of Swallows on the move

mostly west. Lots of Meadow Pipits out on the heath (MD), none seen near the enclosure

though.
