22/09 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure Week 38
Session: 22/09/2021, 07:30 to 10:50hrs
Notes: Quiet again today despite there being Chiffchaff out on the heath and in the surrounding scrub they seemed too busy feeding, few reacted to the audio. The first Reed Bunting for a while. Meadow Pipits attracted to song but none in nets.

Weather: Sunny, cool, warm later, calm
Nets: 48metres in 3 rides of 18M, 18M, 12M up from 07:50 to 10:30hrs
Lures Audio:  Sylvia and Phylos Warblers, Crests, Yellow-browed Warbler, Meadow Pipit, Scarce Summer Migrants (chats, pipits, thrushes etc)

Recaptures:(none)

                                   

Sightings: Jays active carrying acorns about. Meadow Pipit numbers building. The first

Reed Buntings  for a while. Plenty of phylos activity in the surrounding heath scrub. Swallows

mostly going southwest. Worryingly the Muntjac was in the enclosure and not for the first time,

they usually clear out as soon as we arrive, this one was there mid-session!
