01/11 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure Week 44
Session: 01/11/2021, 07:30 to 10:50hrs
Notes: After a wet and windy weekend it was good to be able to get some ringing in. A bit blusterier than expected. Two late migrants made it worthwhile.
A proper Chiffchaff today, no tristis types
Present: JL,IW,
Weather: Blustery southerly breeze, bright sunny, cold
Nets: 48metres in 3 rides of 18M, 18M, 12M up from 08:00 to 10:30hrs
Lures Audio:  BC-CC-FC-GC, Yellow-browed Warbler, BR-LR-SK, FF-RE

Recaptures:(01)

Blue Tit                     ringed: 22/10/2021

Sightings: There was a movement of Woodpigeons (flocks up to around 60) going south until about 09:30hrs when it stopped. The ducks were presumably disturbed from the pond over the back of Sandleford Heath in Sandleford Priory grounds. Otherwise of note, a lone Herring Gull, just a few Redwings flying about, and more Blackbirds than usual out on the heath.
