Common Western Enclosure Week 44
Session:02/11/2021, 07:40 to 10:45hrs
Notes: No Chiffchaffs or Goldcrests today. Blue Tits, a Blackcap and the
groups ninth Firecrest of the autumn. Not bad for the penultimate week of intensive
ringing here.
Session:
First year male Firecrest, the fifth bird here and the ninth ringed by the group this autumn
Present: Nets:
Recaptures:(none)
Sightings: Another movement off
Woodpigeons going south made up mostly of two 50+ flocks. Had some good
views of the Dartford Warblers, one a male was ringed. A few “local” Redwings
about, some feeding on haw berries presumably softened by the frost.
Fewer Blackbirds detected today, and
one flock of 15+ Lesser
Black-backed Gulls south plus some singletons. The Common Darter is late to be
on the wing, surprising what the sun brings out.
