16/01 Snelsmore Feeder

Location: Snelsmore Feeder CES visit 6 of 8
Session: 16/01/2022 07:45 to 11:30hrs
Notes: I miss-counted, thought we had a 99 capture today, but it was 73, excluding two same day retraps. A male Sparrowhawk hit the nets trying for a bird, it got out of the net before we could get to it. Loads of Blue Tits again and surprisingly few Great Tits, those that we did capture turned up late in the session. Some interesting re-traps: three Blue Tits ringed in 2017, four ringed 2019 and two Coal Tits from 2019. Four Blue Tit Pulli ( two from CP15 and two from CP25 ) captured together in the same net rounds and still travelling together. Our capture of Great Tits is very low compared to previous winters; they appear to have had a poor year. Quite hectic session but enjoyable.
